Walks That Stay Flat
A walkway is a long, narrow slab, and narrow slabs crack if the base is weak. We dig out the soft dirt, add a compacted rock base, and cut joints about every four to five feet. That gives cracks a place to go that looks planned.
Roots are the other big problem in Austin. Live oaks push up sidewalks every year. We plan the path around big roots when we can, and we never cut a major root without talking to you first.
Replacing Broken Sidewalk
A raised sidewalk edge is a trip hazard. We cut out the broken pieces, fix the base under them and pour new sections that meet the old ones flush. If the sidewalk is in the city right of way, we check whether your city needs a permit for the repair.
Side Yard Paths and Gate Walks
Tired of mud by the trash cans or a worn path to the back gate? A simple concrete path fixes that. We can pour a walk from the driveway to the gate, around the side of the house, or out to a shed.
Plain Concrete Only
We pour plain gray concrete with a broom finish and clean tooled edges. We do not do stamped, stained or other decorative concrete.

Common Questions
How wide should a front walk be?
Four feet lets two people walk side by side. Three feet works for a side yard path.
Do I need a permit for a sidewalk?
A walk on your own lot usually does not need one. Sidewalk in the city right of way often does. We check your city rules before we start.
Can you match my old sidewalk?
New concrete is lighter at first and darkens over time. We match the height and finish so the new section blends in.
